For years Cary-Grove and Prairie Ridge have been the rivalry in the Fox Valley conference. The two schools have a combined 6 state titles and 4 state runner-ups. Friday night the two Fox Valley rivals met again in Crystal Lake.

Last season the defending state champion Trojans dominated in Cary 42-7. It would be a different story Friday night. The Trojans and Wolves went back and forth in the first half. Trojan sophomore quarterback Peyton Seaburg threw a 17 yard pass to Alex Schuppe two plays after junior running back Andrew Prio ripped a 60 yard run. The 2-point conversion made it 8-0.

The Wolves answered with a 1 yard run from senior fullback Nathan Greetham. Greetham would add a 5 yard run after defensive back Logan Harlow picked off Seaburg's pass deep in Prairie Ridge territory. Seaburg answered with an 8 yard run on the Trojans' next drive, and the Trojans added another 2-pointer.

Greetham and senior quarterback Tyler Vasey took charge in the second half. The Wolves sustained a long touchdown drive, capped off by Greetham's 3rd touchdown of the game, that lasted six minutes. In the fourth quarter, after the Wolves defense forced the only punt of the game, Vasey ran the ball in from 1 yard out. The Wolves defense would eventually force the Trojans to turn it over on downs to finish the 27-16 win.

The Wolves (4-1) will travel to Hampshire (0-5) next Friday Night, and the Trojans (3-2) will host Huntley (4-1).
