
The Lancers came into Thursday night in need of a win. They won their first two conference games, and have lost seven in a row since.
The losing streak started against their Thursday night opponent, the Elgin Spartans, who won the first meeting 63-55 in Elgin. Bryce Reynolds and John Gray each had 17 points for the Spartans in that game.
The Lancers started off strong and snapped their seven game losing streak with a 70-61 victory, and led by as much as 15 late in the second half. The Lancers improve to 11-13 and 3-7 in the Illinois Skyway Conference, and Elgin drops to 13-13 and 5-5 in the Illinois Skyway Conference.
Lancers guard, and Vernon Hills grad, Justin St. Louis led the way for Lake County with 19 points and 4 rebounds, and he was 3/7 from three. Grant grad Randal Holm had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. Terryon Brumby had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Nicholaus Harris-Huntley had 11 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
Glenbard East grad DaRon Hall, who was out in the first meeting with an injury, had 23 points (3/5 3-pt., 8/8 FT), 3 rebounds and 3 steals. John Gray had 11 points (3/7 3-pt.), and 3 rebounds.
On Tursday, the Lancers will travel to Morton (14-10, 4-6 ISC), and the Spartans will host Oakton (7-18, 1-9 ISC).
