The Panthers made the one hour drive from Cicero to Grayslake Thursday night. Both the Panthers and Lancers were looking to rebound after tough road losses to Prairie State and Elgin respectively.
Since 2017 the Panthers have won nine out of the last ten meetings. The Lancers only victory in that stretch came in Grayslake in 2020 on a walkoff halfcourt shot by Waukegan graduate Jaylin Cunningham.
There would be no dramatic finish to this game on either end as it was never in doubt. Morton started fast, and stayed in control as they took down the Lancers 78-61.
The Panthers were led by Kedric Anderson, who scored 19 points (3/4 3pt., 6/6 FT) off the bench. He also had 6 boards and 3 assists. Matas Deksnys had 15 points (3/9 3 pt.), 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Kyren Gardner had 13 points, and Amir Gause had 9 points and 12 boards.
Terryon Brumby led the Lancers with 17 points (3/8 3 pt.) and 4 steals. Justin St. Louis had 15 points (3/11 3 pt.), 3 assists, and 3 steals. Randal Holm had 13 points and 9 boards, and James Glazebrooks had only 4 points, but had 13 boards.
