The Wolfpack roll past the Indians in this one. Sophomore guard Phoenix Gill led the way with 16 points, and 5 steals. Jackson Kotecki and Reggie Ray each had 12 points, and Richard Barron came off the bench and added 7. Isaiah DuPree had 15 points for the Indians.

The best game I saw Monday. The Huskies are a team people need to keep an eye on. Their record doesn't jump out at you (7-5), but they're well coached and they're gritty. Led by junior guards Cole Arl (10 points), Luke Williams (16 points), and Bryce Welch (18 points) the Huskies took care of business against the Hilltoppers. Logan Brown and Dominick Seaney had 12 points each (Seaney: 4/7 from 3). Brown also had 9 rebounds.
Riverside-Brookfield 59 Schaumburg 38
Bulldogs senior Arius Alijosius led the way in this one. He finished with 29 points and finished 7/9 from 3. The Bulldogs led by 13 at halftime, but the Saxons got to within two possessions in the 3rd quarter, but the Bulldogs would pull away for the 21-point victory in the fourth. Jordan Tunis led the Saxons with 10, and Josh Carter had 8 off the bench. Will Gonzalez had 12 points for the Bulldogs, and 6-10 junior Stefan Cicic had 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

A good solid ballgame all around. The Shamrocks are another team to keep an eye on this season. The 9-2 Shamrocks have a good mixture of upper and lower classmen such as 6-4 senior Andrew Ayeni (20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists), 6-1 sophomore EJ Breland (12 points, 4/8 3 pt., 3 rebounds), and 6-1 junior AJ Thomas (12 points, 4 assists, 4 steals). The Panthers have a young core led by 6-6 junior JJ Hernandez (10 points, 7 rebounds), but it was the 6-6 senior Eddy Redento who led the way with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Freshman Josh Abushanab and junior Luke Bonnema also had 10 points.
Yorkville 54 Nazareth 28
The Roadrunners kept it close early, but it was all Yorkville after a while. 6-9 junior Jason Jakstys had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Foxes. Junior guards Davyion Johnson and Mike Dunn each had 11 points. Talen Pearson led the Roadrunners with 9 points. The Foxes are an intriguing team in a competitive Southwest Prairie West.
Palatine 55 Wheaton North 43
6-7 junior Connor May was all over the floor. May finished with 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 steals. The Falcons hung around throughout the game. They were led by senior Hudson Parker (11 points). The Falcons will be competitive throughout the year, and have a nice young group.
Lyons 61 Batavia 34
This game was never in question. The Lions had four players in double digits: 6-6 senior Penn recruit Niklas Polonowski (14 points), 6-5 senior football recruit Graham Smith (12 points), sniper Louis Kaminski (11 points, 3/4 3 pt.), and senior Jackson Niego (10 points). Senior forward Carter Reid had 5 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. CJ Valente led the Bulldogs with 13 points (3/4 3 pt.).
York 74 St. Laurence 54
Another game that was close early as York led by 4 after one quarter. The Dukes started to pull away in the second quarter en route to a 20-point win. It seems no matter how good the Dukes are, they always step it up in their own tournament. AJ Levine led the Dukes with 22 points and 6 rebounds. 6-4 junior Braden Richardson had 21 points and 5 rebounds, and Kyle Waltz had 16 points. The Vikings were led by EJ Mosley (16 points) and Jacob Rice (13 points), and were missing guard Zerrick Johnson. The Vikings are a talented young team that will be a force over the next couple of years.
