Wednesday night I drove down to Conant High School located on the Hoffman Estates-Schaumburg border. The next door neighbor #14 seed Hoffman Estates Hawks battled the#4 seed Glenbrook South, and the host #9 seed Cougars battled #5 seed Evanston.

Glenbrook South 52 Hoffman Estates 38: RJ Davis' 1st Half 3-Point Show and Nick Taylor's Dominance in the Paint too much for the Hawks
After a slow start, the Hawks only trailed 17-14 after one quarter. Titans senior guard RJ Davis had the hot hand in the first hand scoring all 14 of his points in the half, and finished 4/7 from three overall. 6-7 junior forward Nick Taylor also had 14 points, including a key bucket and a free throw midway through the fourth quarter that ignited the Titans to pull away late. Senior wing Gaven Marr had 9 points and 5 boards, and senior guard Josh Wolf had 6 points (2/6 3-pt.), including a key three-pointer after a Nick Taylor steal in the third quarter. Sophomore guard Nate Cleveland led with 12 points for the Hawks, who finish the season 13-17 overall.
Evanston 48 Conant 34: Cougars Hang Around, but Are Unable to Overcome Slow Start:
The Wildkits led 19-5 after one quarter (19-3 with over a minute left in the frame). The upstart cougars were ignited by sophomore wing Bradley Biedke (10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks) and junior point guard Yusuf Cisse (12 points, 3 assists). The Cougars outscored the Wildkits 10-2 in the third quarter, and trailed by 6 after three quarters, but the Wildkits, led by junior guard Brandon Watson off the bench, outscored the Cougars 16-8 in the fourth quarter. Watson, and senior shooting guard Jonah Ross, each led the Wildkits with 9 points. 6-6 Senior forward Prince Adams had 8 points and 6 rebounds. The Cougars finish 14-14 overall for the season.
