Prospect 69 Antioch 41

The Knights were able to take care of business Tuesday night against Antioch despite a brief push in the second quarter by the Sequoits that got them to within 3. Thanks in part to guards Ben Schneider and Alex Georgakas the Knights led by 10 at halftime, and pulled away in the second half.





Prospect (1-1) had four guys in double digits. The sophomore, Schneider, lead the way with 22 points, including 6/8 from 3. Georgakas, an athletic senior, had 13 points. Senior Nolan Murray and junior Frankie Poshnjari had 10 points each.


Nathan Young had 9 points for Antioch (1-1), and Carter Webb had 8 points including two 3s. Star sophomore Marshall Gehrke did not play.





The Sequoits play Evanston (1-0) Wednesday evening at 5:30, and the Knights will play St. Viator (0-1) Wednesday evening at 7.


Evanston 65 Libertyville 55

The Wildkits got off to a hot 14-5 start with Jonah Ross, Prince Adams, Hunter Duncan, and Malachi Barrett each hitting a three in that stretch. After that stretch, the Wildcats, led by senior guard Will Buchert, would fight their way back and led 31-29 at halftime.


Buchert had 16 points in the first half and shared the team lead with 6-6 senior forward Aidyn Boone with 23 points. Nobody else had more than 3 points for the Wildcats.




The Wildkits would jump back ahead in the third quarter and stay there the rest of the game, beating Libertyville 65-55. Senior Malachi Barrett led the Wildkits with 16 points, and St. Viator transfer Hunter Duncan had 13 points.


Prince Adams had 10 points and 7 rebounds, and was one of three players to foul out; the other two being Libertyville's Cole Bonder, and Blaise LaVista.


Libertyville (1-1) will play St. Viator Friday evening at 5.
