Warriors Score Two Second Half Touchdowns after Slow Start to Clinch Central Suburban North Title

On Friday night the Wolves and Warriors battled it out for the Central Suburban North title. The Warriors were also looking to go 8-0 for the first time since 1959.

The Wolves did a great job moving the ball, but only led 3-0 at the half after a 31 yard field goal with 18.2 seconds left. The Warriors scored 2 second half touchdowns after a tough start to win it 14-3, and clinch the Central Suburban North Conference.

Senior running back Onell Miller-Smith scored the eventual game winning touchdown on a 1 yard run late in the 3rd quarter, which was set up by Frankie Norman's 29 yard run. Late in the 4th, Tommy Delaney connected with Kyle Ramirez on 2nd and goal at the 23 after two big penalties by the Warriors.


Tommy Delaney completed 5 passes to 5 different receivers on 9 attempts for 51 yards. Onell Miller-Smith had 19 carries for 75 yards, and Frankie Norman had 8 carries for 61 yards.

Wolves senior quarterback John Bae went 4/14 for 39 yards, and had 7 carries for 51 yards. Running back Aidan Delisi had 10 carries for 57 yards.

The Wolves (5-3, 2-2 CSL North) will finish the season at home against Maine East (1-7, 0-4 CSL North). The Warriors (8-0, 4-0 CSL North) will finish the season at Niles North (3-5, 1-3 CSL North), and will try to finish the regular season at 9-0 for the first time in school history.
